LACE's arts and culture programs have been an integral part of Los Angeles culture for more than four decades, and while "now more than ever" is an overused phrase when it comes to their progressive, socially and politically engaged, avant-garde heart support and historical perspective, it is more than true. Since her physical space is currently closed, not only her programs but also the world-famous benefit auction hiked online this year.
Over 60 artists contributed works (and LACE always shares the auction proceeds with the artists). The bidding has been online for a couple of weeks and the silent auction lasts until Thursday morning – but the main event is the Wednesday night live streaming of art bids, cocktails at home. Master of Ceremonies Marcus Kuiland-Nazario welcomes surprise guests, DJ pastelShade, and a live auction of selected works with auctioneer Blake Koh, director of Phillips. Register in advance to be able to bid. Wednesday, September 9th, 7-8pm; welcometolace.org.
