The NBA fined Patrick Beverley, the Los Angeles Clippers security guard, Monday with a fine of $ 25,000 for verbally abusing a match officer in Game 2 of his team's Western Conference semifinal series against the Denver Nuggets.
The incident occurred at 1:04 am on Saturday night, resulting in a 110-101 loss for the Clippers. Beverley was proven upset with a foul against him four seconds earlier, then unsuccessfully tried to bring charges when play resumed and was called for a suspended foul.
Beverley then got two technical fouls when arguing in vain. It was his second eject of the season and his first of the playoffs.
It's also his second $ 25,000 fine this season. He got the first in October for throwing the ball in the stands after the Clippers defeated the Los Angeles Lakers in the opening game of the season for both clubs.
