LOS ANGELES (CBSLA) – Rapper Silento, real name Richard Lamar Hawk, is due to be charged Friday with two fatal weapon crimes for allegedly wielding a hatchet against two strangers in a house in Valley Village.
Hawk is behind the 2015 hit "Watch Me (Whip / Nae Nae)".
The 22-year-old entertainer is accused of walking into a stranger's unlocked house last Saturday and trying to hit two people with the hatchet before one of them managed to disarm him, according to Los District prosecutors Angeles.
He was arrested at around 1:50 pm. on Saturday on the 12700 block of Albers Street, near Bellaire Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The day before, Santa Ana officials responded to the domestic disturbance call. Hawk was arrested and booked on suspicion of assaulting a spouse or roommate. He was later released.
Charges, which carry a possible maximum six-year prison term, include allegations that he used the hatchet as a deadly and dangerous weapon and committed the crime on bail or after his arrest in Santa Ana.
Sheriff's records indicate that Hawk is being held on bail of $ 105,000 and is expected to appear in court at the Van Nuys Courthouse Friday morning.
He was arrested the previous day at the 100 block on Macarthur Avenue, where Santa Ana officials were responding to a domestic disturbance call. He was booked on suspicion of bodily harm to a spouse or roommate and was later released.
